Gift Card Terms and Conditions

  1. General Terms

    Grubhub Gift Cards are distributed by CashStar, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("CashStar"). By visiting https://grubhub.cashstar.com, you agree that the laws of the State of New York, without regard to principles of conflict of laws, will govern these Gift Card Terms and Conditions ("Ts & Cs"). Grubhub Holdings Inc. ("COMPANY") and CashStar reserve the right to change these Ts & Cs from time to time in their discretion. Grubhub Gift Cards are issued by COMPANY.
  2. Gift Cards

    Grubhub Gift Cards are available for purchase here. With the exception of expedited shipping fees for physical Gift Cards (if selected), no fees of any kind will be imposed on purchasers or recipients of Gift Cards.
  3. Redemption

    Grubhub Gift Cards are redeemable on your takeout and delivery favorites on Grubhub.com or Grubhub's iPhone®, iPad® and Android™ apps. Grubhub Gift Cards may not be redeemable on certain corporate accounts. To redeem, enter code at checkout. Please note, a Gift Card recipient must have a Grubhub account and provide their credit card information to complete a purchase, even if the Gift Card is used as the sole form of payment. If your Gift Card only covers a portion of your purchase upon redemption, the remaining balance must be paid using a payment method accepted by COMPANY at the time of redemption (cannot be combined with cash).
  4. View Your Balance

    To view your Gift Card balance, go here, contact Customer Support or call toll free at 844-828-5331.
  5. Returns and Cancellations

    You cannot return or cancel your Grubhub Gift Card after your order is placed, except that Digital Gift Cards placed for future delivery can be cancelled prior to the delivery date by contacting Customer Support.
  6. Lost or Stolen Gift Cards

    If you suspect that someone has copied or stolen your Gift Card, contact Customer Support immediately. Gift Cards will not be replaced if lost or stolen without proof of purchase. Gift Cards have cash value and should be safeguarded accordingly.
  7. Limitations

    The maximum value that can be associated with any one Gift Card is one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) and total purchases for any one individual may not exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) in one calendar day. You may not use a Gift Card to purchase other Gift Cards.
Gift Cards cannot be reloaded, resold, transferred for value, or redeemed for cash, except to the extent required by law. Gift Cards are void if reloaded, resold, transferred for value, or redeemed for cash. Unused Gift Cards may not be transferred.
  8. Our Policies

    Information that you provide when purchasing a Gift Card is subject to CashStar's Privacy Policy. CashStar and COMPANY may provide Gift Card purchasers with information about the redemption status of Gift Cards.
  9. Risk of Loss

    Ownership and risk of loss of Gift Cards passes to the purchaser as soon as the Gift Card is sent (whether by email or physical mail). Neither CashStar nor Grubhub is responsible for lost or stolen Gift Cards. If you have any questions, please see the FAQs.
  10. Grubhub Gift Card Customer Service

    If you need assistance with any aspect of your purchase, ownership, or use of your Gift Card, please contact Customer Support. Please refer to your order number, or be ready to supply your email address.
  11. Payment Methods

    Grubhub Gift Cards must be paid for with a valid VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express card, or with PayPal.
  12. Delivery Information and Requirements for Gift Card Purchasers

    All orders of Gift Cards are subject to a process that compares purchaser information provided on the website with information about the purchaser provided by the purchaser's financial institution. If there is a discrepancy, your Gift Card order may be delayed until it can be corrected.
If you have concerns about your order, please contact Customer Support. Please refer to your order number, or be ready to supply your email address. 
We are not responsible for Gift Cards that are undeliverable or not received due to your failure to enter an accurate physical or email address for the recipient. Please check to make sure the address of the recipient is correct and contact Customer Support if you suspect the recipient did not receive their Gift Card. Should an email be returned to us due to inaccurate delivery information for the recipient, we will attempt to contact you for a valid email address.
  13. Reasons for Failed Delivery of Digital Gift Cards

    Digital Gift Cards are delivered via email. If you have confirmed the recipient's email address but the Digital Gift Card has not been viewed within a reasonable period after the requested delivery date, the following is a list of the most common reasons why delivery may have failed:
    1. Spam filter blocked email or routed it to a bulk/spam folder
    2. Recipient's firewall blocked the email
    3. Email inbox is over size limit
    4. Invalid email address
    If a spam filter is blocking Grubhubgiftcards@cashstar.com emails from getting to an inbox, the email options will need to be modified so that Grubhubgiftcards@cashstar.com emails are not considered spam.

  14. Additional Terms of Use for Gift Cards

    By visiting Grubhub.cashstar.com, you agree to these Gift Card Ts & Cs as well as any additional applicable terms at www.Grubhub.com, including, without limitation, COMPANY's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and any terms printed on the Gift Card or accompanying materials.
  15. Personalized Messaging

    If you wish to add a personal message to a Gift Card, simply type your message in the Message field during the purchase process. 
Personal messages are limited in length to the space provided on the Digital Gift Card, or to the space provided in the presentation carrier of a physical Gift Card. 
There is no additional charge to include a personalized message. 
If we find inappropriate, offensive or otherwise objectionable messages, we reserve the right to cancel them. Thanks for your cooperation.
  16. Uploaded Images

    You may upload your own image for display on a Digital Gift Card. This feature is not available for physical Gift Cards at this time. By uploading the image, you agree that you have all rights to use the image as contemplated hereunder. 
There is no additional charge to include your own image. 
We reserve the right to replace inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise objectionable images. 
We reserve the right to replace images that infringe upon trademark or copyright law.

  17. Limitation of Liability

    TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CASHSTAR, COMPANY AND EACH OF ITS AFFILIATES MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO DIGITAL GIFT CARDS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IF AN DIGITAL GIFT CARD CODE IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOUR SOLE REMEDY, AND OUR SOLE LIABILITY, SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH DIGITAL GIFT CARD. CERTAIN STATE LAWS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES ARISING FROM A BREACH OF WARRANTY. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS, OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU, AND YOU MIGHT HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.
